Nigerian music artiste David Adeleke, aka Davido downplayed his supposed ‘feud’ with fellow artist Wizkid.
Over the past few weeks, the two have thrown jabs at each other on social networking website Twitter in what many are saying is a superiority/popularity contest.
Camps of the two young singers have also traded subliminal jabs which has been deemed ‘unhealthy’ by watchers of the entertainment industry.
While names were not mentioned, Davido’s show in the US flopped because he showed up late. Part of the blame was pointed out to be the venue of choice which Wizkid seems to have taken a jab at.
Speaking for the first time about this ‘feud’ on Sahara TV, the ‘Aye’ singer said he has nothing against Wizkid.
He said: “not beef at all… to me everything you do, you don’t hit your brother down, that’s something you don’t do.”
Davido then explained the jabs were in retaliation to Wizkid: “This is the first time I’m saying this but the only reason I was upset was because of the NY (New York) concert. I was even going to tweet like you know ‘make sure everybody turn up for my brother Wizkid’s concert’ and he threw a shade like that. I’m not going to take that so that’s why I went and said what I said.”
Nevertheless, the artiste said he bears no grudges against Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, and that he is a big fan.
“But it’s all cool you know, at the end of the day, we got to keep it on the music. Shout out to him. I’m still a big fan. He is doing his thing,” Davido stated.
While the ‘Aye’ hit singer stressed that the beef “was never nothing”, he added fuel to the fire by saying “but don’t throw a shade at me… especially when we were on the same flight earlier.”
