The sponsorship of this year’s Africa Fashion Week London holding from August 1st to 4th has transformed the profile of the event and gave it a completely new gravitas.
Beyond the rising profile, the huge publicity, the unprecedented media coverage, the participation by about 100 fashion designers and fashion houses, the attendance by super models like Naomi Campbell, the sponsorship by Globacom has embolden the organisers to venture into new terrains of empowerment of young and jazzy African designers.
An endowment fund will be inaugurated during the gala on August 4 at the Dorchester to support emerging African designers/artistes as well as student designers/artistes.
Also, a red carpet/ public runway will be created in the GLO EXHIBITION AREA which will give the public an opportunity to walk down the RED CARPET RUNWAY to pose for photographers.
Awards will also be given out at the Dorchester to appreciate all of those who have contributed to the growth of Africa fashion and youth empowerment, and those whose works have inspired the younger generation in Africa.
Everything is therefore set to make this year’s Africa Fashion Week London a memorable show.
Over 25,000 people from across the world are expected to watch the show described as the biggest Africa Fashion inspired event in Europe. The grand finale of the event is slated for the prestigious Dorchester Hotel in Central London.
